Need Ideas For Quick Father’s Day Crafts?
By Jennifer Spears
Father’s Day is right around the corner! If you still need ideas for quick Father’s Day crafts that you can make with your kids, check out this “My Dad Rocks” project. It’s fun, easy to make, and you probably don’t even have to go to the store to get any of the supplies!
When it comes to Father’s Day, we tend to stick with simple, fun crafts that the kids can make (mostly) by themselves. Dad always appreciates the gifts, and the kids LOVE being able to give him something that they made themselves.
This craft can be displayed at home, or used as a paperweight or decoration wherever Dad does his important work.
Small Rocks (3 fairly flat for the words, 1 larger oval for the body, 1 round for the head, and 4 longer ones for the legs and arms)
1 Large Flat Rock To Use As A Base
First, wash the dirt or dust off from the rocks that you gathered and then let them dry.
Next, pick colors for Dad’s clothes, and paint his body, arms and legs. Divide the main part of the body into a “pants” and “shirt” portion.
For Dad’s face, use paint and then a Sharpie to highlight Dad’s features. If your kids are very young, you may need to help them with this part.
Once Dad is fully painted, use the Sharpie to write My Dad Rocks on the flat rocks.
Last, glue the Dad rocks onto a larger flat rock.
This is one of our favorite quick Father’s Day crafts because it can be made fairly quickly…at the last minute…and for almost no money.
Dad’s are awesome, and kids love showing off their artistic sides, so craft gifts are a perfect fit!
Happy Father's Day to all of the amazing men out there!
